St.Andrew Novena starts today
Very soon, in just a few hours, it will be November 30th, St.Andrew's feast day, and the first day of the novena. As promised, I'll be praying this chaplet along with all those who are praying especially to conceive a child.
And as you pray, I ask that you include a blogger who a lot of you probably already know through Leila's blog, Carla, the mother of Henry. Carla's family lost Henry on Wednesday of this week, quite unexpectedly, through some complications after his surgery. For those of us who have followed Carla and Henry's journey, through his adoption to his final Home, we are all feeling a little of the sharp and bitter grief that Carla now is experiencing. Please remember Carla and her family during this Christmas novena, and pray for the balm of healing on their hearts.
(There is a Chip In Button on my brother's blog to help Carla's family with financial expenses; my brother and his wife recently adopted Alex, a little boy from the Ukraine, who has CP. Like so many others, they were largely influenced by Carla's example as she was the first pioneer to adopt from Reece's Rainbow (the first that this circle of people knew of.) Please consider giving something to help them through this difficult time; the last thing people want to think of when they're grieving is finances.)
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
