I know that I was going to post about the new St.Francis rosary, but I'm so behind in First Communion rosaries, that I had to post about this first. This is the boys Holy First Communion rosary.
Very simple, with boyish colors of blue, gray and silver, this is a simple bead rosary. The center is a large center-piece with the bread and wine that turns into the Body and Blood of Jesus.
The crucifix is very plain, it's true, but it's all I have on hand at the moment (still waiting on those crucifix orders), and I figured for a boys rosary, it may not matter so much.
However, being so limited on fancier crucifixes helps me to remember that a crucifix isn't supposed to be viewed as an accessory to a rosary; it is the Person on the crucifix that should matter most---whether it be wooden, plain, or fancy.
The rosary is available now in my Etsy shop--girls First Holy Communion will be coming soon.
"Poor men and women who are sinners, I, a greater sinner than you, wish to give you this rose, a crimson one, because the precious blood of our Lord has fallen upon it....may it save you from the danger that you are in. Every day unbelievers and un-repentant sinners cry, "Let us crown ourselves with roses" (Wis. 2:8). But our cry should be, "Let us crown ourselves with the roses of the holy Rosary." -St.Louis de Montfort
I like the crucifix.
